Hooray, we made it to CHINA. Arrival in the middle of the night, 4:00 a.m. Exciting! Will the internet work? Where to get cash? How do we reach the hotel? Does Alipay work?
In the end, everything was easy: taxi ride of 25 km for just €12 to the hotel – but the room wasn’t ready yet. So, straight off to the Temple of Heaven, the one you see on almost every Beijing postcard.

Sunset on the Jingshang Hill
In the evening we climbed Jingshan Hill with its view over the Forbidden City. Such a cool feeling to stand up there in Beijing, just soaking in the city! (PS: air quality was great).

“Short Circuit”
At the hotel, there are even “employees” who never need a break and keep bringing water bottles to the rooms: robots!
Fascination FOOD
So many Chinese characters, so many dishes to choose from. Between stinky tofu and steaming drinks, we found a super tasty dumpling soup. Tomorrow it’s Peking duck time.

The food looks great. I’m not sure about the stinky tofu though!
By the way I love the photo of Sylvia in front of the brightly coloured parasols.
Thank you very much!
What a huge contrast with Spain !! It must be overwhelming ! Enjoy the best out of it !
Stinky tofu?🧐 good thing you found a soup in a dumpling, do you eat the dumpling too or just drink the soup?😉
Thank you for taking us on the trip with you❤️
Dear Anna,
you drink the soup and eat the Dumpling, which also contains some seasoned minced meat. We didn’t try the stinky Tofu.
Happy to see you soon in Hanoi 🙂
